What's
New 2005
News
Well it's the worst kept secret, but the all new Cartridge Man Isolator is finally in production. The Isolator £85 RRP, we believe will be adorning every tonearm within 3 years. It really is that good. We are not just saying this. everybody who has tried it, from manufacturers to press agree. So what this space reviews will be out very soon. HIAudio hold Worldwide Distribution rights for this product. Most Wanted Components Awards June 15th 2005 Congratulations must go the The Cartridge Man (Music Maker Mk3) and Usher Audio Technology (CP-6371), both receiving the Stereo Times Most Wanted Component 2005 for Cartridge and Loudspeakers respectively. 6Moons May 30th 2005 Well we have listened to products from Usher Audio and we know how good they are, offering superb build quality allied with both gorgeous looks and sonic's to die for. Over at 6Moons, a rather good lengthy review, (an issue we like in the new bread of online magazines were copy deadline and space doesn't restrict article length to the space available on a given page). 6Moons have been evaluating a pair of the CP-6381 loudspeakers and surprise surprise they agree with our opinion wholeheartedly. A truly sensational product. HiFi Choice May 2005 We gave an old acquaintance from our home town of Lewes the chance to hear the synergy between the Hadcock and the Music Maker Mk3. Knowing he was a Tom Evans fan, we thought it best he also hear the vinyl book according to the school of Graham Slee. We weren't disappointed, the usual SME V and VDH were replaced, and Jason Kennedy was blown away with the sound of the Music Maker / Hadcock combo, and well he should be. The reduced horizontal resistance (read sonic coloration) a true Unipivot imparts on the stylus/cantilever as it tracks through the record groove is second only to the air bearings. So why shouldn't a "cheaper" unipivot sound better then a V, well it does because of the bearings or lack of therein. It was just a shame the Tom Evans Groove doesn't have variable cartridge loading and was set for a particular MC, we could have had another interesting sonic/price comparison between the Era V and a Groove. As it was all he has was an old Dino so yet again another comparison with an incomparable. February 20th 2005 HIAudio will be attending our first
Hi Fi show this year. Starting our trio of annual shows we'll be in
room 313 at the Bristol Marriot. So come in and say hello. You'll be
amazed at what you'll hear.
HiFi News Awards January 2005 In the January Awards issue of Hi Fi News, The skill in design by Graham Slee has been recognised with his Era Gold and Elevator EXP mc phono preamp combo winning the "phono stage" Award. Reviewed earlier this year by Andrew Harrison, we know it is now the reference phono stage for two of their staff writers. Hearing really is believing for these little silver beauties. Hi Fi News Awards January 2005 We will admit this one came as a shock, we have not submitted anything for review, but imagine our surprise when we saw Len Gregories' Music Maker MkIII moving iron cartridge a runner up in the Cartridge Awards. We know just how good this cartridge is, and so it would appear do others. Look out for a full review of this cartridge in an upcoming issue. Hi-Fi World Awards January 2005 In the latest issue of Hi-Fi World, our product excellence has been recognised in the shape of both the Award winning tonearm the Hadcock 242 Export, and the Runner up phono stage runner up the Graham Slee Era Gold. You will notice the Hadcock 242 Integra unpivot tonearm adorning the Award winning Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck, forget the added words on the Gyro Deck SE, the Spacedeck combo excels. In fact we were the instigators behind all of this. The Cartridge Man recommended this deck with the Hadcock to us for use as our "demo deck" available to dealers to audition our fine range of vinyl products. Well one thing led to another and here you have it this superb combo reviewed, just a shame the editor never heard it!!. Hi-Fi World January 2005 The January issue in the latest round of contributing writer system building, shows the extent by which with careful use of 2nd hand and new equipment, you can achieve a stunning level of performance. Vinyl addict Tom Evans raves about the Townsend Rock, and these can be found second hand for a very sensible price. Couple this with the Roksan Nima Unipivot tonearm and uses Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 phono pre amplification, off you rock.
