NuForce a name becoming recognised and quoting David Price Editor of Hi Fi World, annoying many established brands by the superb poise and musicality that these diminutive yet highly efficient amplifiers provide. How they do it? The Nuforce class-N amplifiers are a novel variation on class-D amplification. A very high frequency PWM switching circuit produces the output waveform from the power amplifier, and its very low distortion is achieved by building in a local feedback integrator around the switching circuit to ensure that the average output voltage from each digital switching cycle is exactly equal to the reference (desired) output voltage. This eliminates the need to take overall negative feedback from the output of the filtering circuits to the loudspeaker load, which complicates feedback and limits the bandwidth of class-D amplifiers. The reduced component count increases overall energy efficiency over class-D, and reduces heat sink and cooling requirements, overall size, and cost.

Their range, launched at CES in 2005, heralded by critics as ground breaking around the world is now being expanded from their first products the Reference 8 and 9 mono blocks. Their 100w Reference 8.5 V2 features their standard single ended and Balanced inputs and has found homes in critics and customers listening rooms throughout the world. The newly available more powerful but no less subtle 190w Reference 9 V2 with balanced and single ended inputs continues the high standards the company set 6 months before.
