In a new sleek small portable case, smaller than an iPod Classic 6th Gen larger than a 7 Gen iPod Nano, the Icon Mobile will partner either with aplomb. Charged using the usb mini D interface (cable supplied) it takes a few hours to first charge up, thereafter less than two hours will see it go from flat to full charge. The micro D interface also acts as the Icon1's usb DAC interface, and wow is it good. Plug this into any laptop/pc/mac and you'll have an instantly recognised audio interface, that will let you play music from a hard drive straight to your ears. But it doesn't end there, if you have a suitably equipped mic headset such as the NuForce NE-7m, the Icon Mobile can act as a microphone ADAC unit allowing you to use any PC to log into your Skype or similar VOIP, anywhere in the world. Of course you'll be charging the Icon Mobile every time you do as well.
Featuring 1no. 3.5mm input and 2no. 3.5mm headphone output (mic input) sockets, the Icon Mobile will work beautifully alongside any mobile device with a 3.5mm output.
A simple gain setting adjuts the overall max volume depending upon the impedance of you ear/headphones. And the overall in listening volume is by a thumb wheel on the lower lefthand side. In listening it has got a lot bettter over the first 50 hours and we understand will improve further, from all the positive feedback we are getting. With regard to on and off switching, the Icon Mobile senses if any earphones are plugged in, and if they are, the circuit powers on. et voila enjoy your music.
